SVS and APMA Join Forces to Encourage Vascular Wellness

Foot Health Awareness Month provided an ideal opportunity for the presidents of SVS and the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) to jointly promote vascular health.

In April, SVS distributed the newspaper article and radio PSA, Celebrate Foot Health Awareness Month with a Brisk Walk. The public outreach initiative included input from Robert Zwolak, MD, SVS president, and Michael King, MD, APMA president.

“Especially in the care of patients with critical limb ischemia, a multi-disciplinary approach benefits the patient,” said Dr. Zwolak.

“In 2009, SVS entered into a formal agreement with APMA to collaborate on advocacy and public awareness efforts in areas of common interest. With cooperation from the APMA, we can multiply our vascular health message.”

The SVS article appears in the Press Center’s Vascular Wellness Articles section of the SVS website,VascularWeb.org).
